Announcing The “Fall Children’s Fishing Classic”
October 20, 2018 – 8:00 AM – 12:00 Noon
Honorary Chairman is _________
The North Georgia Crappie Anglers Association is pleased, along with the help from other fishing Clubs, to sponsor the Fall Children’s Fishing Classic. This year we are planning a much larger event than ever before. We hope to have 100 Children participate in the event on October 20, 2018. For many of the children, this will be their first experience with fishing, but our goal is that it won’t be their last. To qualify to participate in the tournament and be eligible for awards and prizes, each child / youth must be between the ages of 6 and 15. However, youths older than 15 are welcome to fish in the tournament as a passenger in a Captain’s boat. Each child, or youth will be paired with a Captain/Fisherman to lead them into the wonderful world of fishing. Registration of the children and captains is accomplished by clicking on the here and filling out the appropriate form.
The event will be held on October 20, 2018 from 8:00 to 12:00 Noon and the weigh-in at Bolding Mill Park, 4044 Chestatee Rd., Gainesville, GA, with a 12:00 noon check-in deadline. There will be trophies for the largest fish in four categories which are Crappie, Bass, Stripper and Catfish. __________ will present the trophies to each of the winners and have their photo taken. Also, each child participating will receive a new rod and reel and Certificate of Participation, that they can take home. Food will also be served after the ceremony.
If you have a child, a grandchild, niece / nephew or neighborhood child, please don’t miss this opportunity to take them fishing or registering them in this fun filled educational event. And likewise if you are an experienced fisherman don’t miss this opportunity to invite a child to go fishing. Some kids will be fishing from boats while others will be fishing from the bank or docks. Of course, your child’s safety will be our first priority.
There is a story of an old gentleman on his death bed and someone asked him “what do you most regret?” The old man replied “the day I wasted taking my son to the lake to fish, and we caught nothing.” They then asked the son “what was the the fondest memory of your dad?” The son replied “the time I spent with my dad the day he took me fishing”.
